Product Information

Our suncatchers are made using only genuine Swarovski crystal components to insure a product of exceptional quality for a lifetime of beauty.
Many of the prisms have an etched logo inside the crystal somewhere near the top hole; however, Swarovski has recently rearranged the way they categorize their prisms and in the future, only a few different shapes will have the mark.
Because of their European manufacture, sizes are given in millimeters. The approximate equivalents are as follows:
28/30mm - 1"
38/40mm - 1-1/2"
50mm - 2"

Q & A

What is so special about Swarovski?
Swarovski is really the benchmark by which all other crystal products are measured. They have a lead content of over 30% and are precision machine cut and polished using a method patented by founder Daniel Swarovski, resulting in exceptional brilliance and maximum light refraction. You may have seen Swarovski prisms that are more inexpensive than ours, but that is because they are unleaded. We use the expensive, leaded crystal series prisms and pendants because that is what creates the rainbows as well as the superior sparkle within the prism itself.
What is AB?
AB stands for aurora borealis. It is a transparent, mirror-like, multi-colored coating on one side of the prism or bead. The effect is that the prism reflects the colors of the spectrum within the prism itself. It does not affect the "rainbows on the wall" effect and actually enhances the sparkle of the prism.
Why have the metal components on my piece turned dark or yellowish?
We use some silver plated components to make our pieces. They will tarnish! They will need to be cleaned periodically to get them shining bright "white" again.
